Purchase A Home Educator ID Card

You can BUY a Homeschool ID Card from Homeschool Buyer’s Club if you want a professionally printed hard plastic one.
For just $7.95, they print and ship your ID direct to your door. You can also get a Student ID one from them as well. It’s a good idea to carry both when you visit stores or go on field trips in case you can take advantage of a discount!
You can put whatever you want for an ID number.

If you are a member of HSLDA, you can purchase a teacher ID card through them as well!
Teacher ID.me

My favorite place to find teacher discounts is https://shop.id.me/teacher
Once you have your Teacher ID card, sign up for an account on ID.me and upload your card. From there you can download the Chrome extension that alerts you when shopping if you can get a discount or just browse the stores that offer teacher discounts and shop from there. I’ve used this multiple times and it works GREAT!
SheerID

You can also find teacher discounts listed at SheerID (what Target uses to confirm eligibility)

How do I check if a store gives teacher discounts to homeschoolers?
Well, one way to go about it is by asking if they have any educator discounts. If they do, you can casually find out if it covers homeschooling folks too. If not, you could just throw in a friendly suggestion about them maybe hooking up homeschoolers with the same deal. Sometimes stores haven’t really thought about it. And hey, if their competition is dishing out such discounts, most stores wouldn’t want to let customers slip away!
If you know of any retailers or stores that we missed, please leave a comment and let me know or send me an email!
